Drunk driving, DUI and DWI charges can range in severity, as can the consequences of each charge. Whether or not a drunk driving charge classifies as a felony depends on a number of factors, and the defense of a felony charge requires a high level of investigation and skill in this particular area of law.

As a Rockland County felony DWI lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, I have been able to help my clients get the results they need in both the immediate criminal charges they are facing and the long-term implications of that charge.

I encourage you to contact my office — the office of Frank J. Raso — as soon as possible if you are facing a felony DWI or other type of drunk driving charge so that you can get the representation you need during this difficult time.

What Is A Felony DWI?

A felony DWI generally arises in one of two ways. First, an individual who is arrested for a DWI while having a prior misdemeanor DWI conviction within the last 10 years could be charged with a felony. Second, a first-time DWI offender could be found to have a minor under the age of 16 in the vehicle while he or she is driving, and could subsequently be charged with a felony DWI.

Will I Go To Jail For My Felony DWI Offense?

A felony DWI charge does carry the potential for substantial jail time in a state prison. Do not be overwhelmed by this possibility. In my years of experience I have earned a reputation for success that is based upon acquittals, reduced sentences and favorable dispositions. I can work to do the same for you when you contact my office.

Providing More Than Representation · Providing A Second Chance

First-time DWI offenders are usually individuals who consume alcohol socially and simply underestimate their level of impairment before getting behind the wheel. In cases of multiple DWIs and felony DWIs, however, the situation is often different. Substance abuse issues can be at play, and I firmly believe that it is my job as an attorney to look beyond the present issue and address its underlying causes. I want to make sure that my clients walk out of my office with a brighter outlook on the future and the tools they need to be successful.
